Potential savings: Treatment instead of disposal (Monheim) Because a business owner who thinks in an integrated and sustainable way is annoyed at increasing disposal costs, he examined the wastewater treatment in his metalworking company.
“The order of magnitude of the saving effect achieved by treating the wastewater was a pleasant surprise”, reported an enthusiastic company boss, who does not wish to have his name and company published in the newspaper. By using two tramp oil separators and an evaporator from MKR Metzger, the metalworking company now only has to dispose of 500 – 1000 l used process media per week. It used to be 6000 – 8000 l per week. This saves the company around 35.000 euros in disposal costs each year. In addition, fewer chemicals have to be used, which means using fewer resources and less impact on the environment. The low energy costs of the energy-efficient machines are almost completely offset by the longer service lives of the process media due to the returned, cleaned, reusable medium.
